Congressman Ron Paul lectures Bernanke on the flaws of the bailout plan and the hazard of the attempt to fix prices versus letting them correct naturally in the free market at the Congressional Hearing today (9/24/08). Ron also questions Bernanke’s authority and constitutionality of using the printing press to generate all this extra money needed for the bailout.

With the current population of American citizens, they could issue 3 million to every tax payer, ending poverty for citizens, ending forclosure, create massive spending, stocks will go up, create more jobs, increase bank deposits, keep the taxes on the amount, and still have spent only a tiny fraction of what they are proposing, which will still not work. LOL

I will contribute to the bailout fund if Henry (Hank) Paulson — U.S. Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO, and all-around bald guy ponies up the $200 million in capital gains tax he was exempt from having to pay. It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.

Boy the economic talking heads on the cable news sure are pushing for the bailout. They assume everyone in America has a cush job like they do with killer bennies and a sweet 401k and all that. They need to think about the term “paycheck to paycheck” and how wages have flatlined if not decreased. They need to talk about outsourcing and this “global economy”.
